GOA uno is an Athena 38 catamaran, made in the Fountaine Pajot shipyard in 2000 and completely renovated in 2010
Its displacement is two tons lighter than other catamarans of the same length, which makes it ideal for sailing and improves its performance with respect to much heavier catamarans.
It is very comfortable. It has a wide panoramic salon ensuring a perfect view, it is very well equipped and the kitchen is furnished with large shelves and a big capacity fridge.
In each of the hulls we can find 4 bright double cabins, and two bathrooms with incorporated showers.
Advantages of the catamaran over a traditional monohull:
- COMFORT: A catamaran means much more room, which makes it unquestionably better to live in than in monohulls of the same length. Besides, it is possible to cook comfortably while sailing at 8 knots, something very hard to do in a monohull.
- FREEDOM: The fact that the catamaran has two hulls, each one with two cabins and its own bathroom, provides great freedom for the passengers on-board. If, for instance, there are two families living in the catamaran, each family can occupy their own hull without having to share it with anyone else, or the adults can occupy one of the hulls and the children the other one.
- NAUSEA: A catamaran does not roll from side to side as other types of vessels, and even if there is motion, this would be a gentle pitch motion and not the rotational motion that we can experience in other vessels and which is the main cause of sea-sickness. This does not mean that there is absolutely no possibility of feeling dizzy in a catamaran, but we can be certain that nausea will be less likely.
- SECURITY: Since it does not heel, its stability is infinitely higher, which reduces the danger of falling into the ocean, especially for children.
- DROUGHT: The fact that a catamaran draws less than a monohull makes it easier for this type of boats to get closer to the coast, where the water is crystalline.
- SPEED: The GOA can easily reach 20 knots with a favourable wind of 11 knots.
